Another 3 points for the B Team

The B team added another valuable 3 points to the league table after a titanic battle away to Wexford Celtic.

In windy conditions it was a slow start to this game with both teams feeling each other out in the early proceedings. Camolin landed the first punch however after some great work from winger Lee Power who fired the ball to the back of the net after some tidy work around the edge of the area. Wexford responded instantly tho and the game was 1-1 with 25mins on the clock.

Our boys reclaimed the lead when a great ball over the top found Lee Byrne who was fouled in the area. Up stepped the lethal Tommy O Leary from the spot and you know the rest yourself, the man just doesn’t miss from 12 yards. The rest of the half played out evenly with neither side creating much up to the half time break.

Into the second half and the lads showed great resilience and strength in the back line with the midfielders all working well for the cause too. As the game was coming to an end Wexford Celtic threw the kitchen sink at us but to no avail our lads stood tall. We created some great chances on the counter with the Wexford keeper pulling off saves that Alisson Becker would be proud of. Thankfully we didn’t need the third goal to get the win and we towed in for a hard earned 3 points away from home. Fair play to the lads who came off the bench and put in a shift for us too when they were needed.

Man of the match on the day was Conor Morris, with great preformances also coming from Lee Power, Colin Kavangh and Mick Murphy.

A big 3 points for the lads which puts them in a great chance to push for promotion and maybe more for the rest of the season ❤️🖤
